What action do we have to do in order to make our Mosque in our locality becomes like the Prophet’s Mosque in the time of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w? The Mosque in our locality will not become like the Mosque of the Prophet in the time of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w unless we decide to make the work of the Prophet s.a.w. as our work. We must decide to do the work of the Prophet s.a.w like what the Prophet did and we must decide to continue doing the work of Prophet at all circumstances and we will only stop doing the work of Prophet on the day we die. When we have decided to do the work of Prophet, we must decide to give times to the Mosque, the minimum two hours and thirty minutes in a day. One hour we should allocate to the work of dakwah and the work of reminding the Muslims, another hour allocated to performing solat with congregation in the Mosque and thirty minutes allocated to the amal of learning and teaching about the orders of Allah in the Mosque. Once we have decided to do the work of the Prophet like the Prophet did, then the help of Allah is already with us. When the time which we have decided to give to the Mosque has come, we must make ourselves present without fail in the Mosque. When we are alone and nobody else in our locality is ready to do the work with us, we should remember that Allah is with us. We should remember that we are not alone and Allah is with us. When Allah is with us, we should be able to do the work of the Prophet alone and none can give harm to us except with the permission of Allah. Allah will not bring harm to me unless I can bear the harm and the harm will become as a means of my elevation in the eyes of Allah. In the beginning of Islam, even our Prophet used to do the work of visiting the people alone. Even though we are alone, we still have to do the Halkah of Iman and after doing it; we should make doa alone and ask Allah to give hidayah to our family and us and to Muslims to do the work of the Prophet and to the non-Muslims to become Muslims. How to do the Halkah of Iman has already described previously in my article with the topic The Mosque –Its activity. When you finished doing Halkah of Iman and doa you should proceed with doing the work of visiting the people from house to house and from lane to lane in our locality. We should visit every house, Muslims or non-Muslims and talk to every male adult members of the house. How should we talk to Muslims and non-Muslims have been described previously in my other articles. Please read articles on dakwah to non-Muslims and the work of reminding Muslims.
In the beginning as Prophet Muhammad s.a.w used to do, we may be doing the work alone and during these times we must remain steadfast and we must ask Allah to give us companions in doing the work of the Prophet in our locality. Once Allah grants us companion more than three people then we can do another amal of the Mosque, the amal of inviting the Muslims once in a week in our mosque and once in a week in neighboring mosque to listen to lectures that will fulfill the needs and the requirements of our Mosques. At the time of the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w people were called to the Mosque in order to fulfill the needs or the requirements of the Mosque by only the call…Assalatul Jaa-miah and all the Sahabah would gather at once in the Prophet’s Mosque. After Sahabah had gathered, the Prophet, s.a.w will give them motivational talk so that the requirements of the Mosque were fulfilled. Most of the requirements of the Mosque at the time of the Prophet s.a.w were to send group of Sahabah to other places either to do the work of dakwah to non-Muslims or to be engaged in war against the non-Muslims that refused to embrace Islam and to pay jizyah to the Muslims.
Since our iman is weak, we cannot call Muslims to the Mosque with only the call like what the Prophet used to do during his time. In order to call Muslims to come to the Mosque to attend lecture that will portray the needs or requirements of the Mosque, we have to send group of Muslims, minimum 3 people and the maximum 10 to the Muslims’ houses. The groups must go to every lane or road in the locality to visit only Muslims’ houses and to invite only male adults to attend the lecture. Between solat Asar and solat Maghrib, the work of inviting Muslims to attend the lecture can be done, minimum 45 minutes and after solat Maghrib, one person should give a lecture of about 30 minutes to the Muslims that have come to hear the lecture. After performing solat Asar, one person should give short lectures about 15 minutes and persuades the audience to participate in the work of inviting the Muslims to attend the lecture after solat Maghrib. Among those who are ready, we form groups that are ready to do the work of inviting Muslims to attend the lecture by going from one Muslim’s house to another Muslim’s houses. The group consists of at least three persons, with one is made leader, the second person is made as spokesperson and the third is made as the introducer. Instructions on responsibilities, procedures and ways of doing visiting are given prior to the group goes for visiting the Muslims in their houses. In this visit, we are not going to the non-Muslim houses, as the purpose of the visit is to invite Muslims to attend our lecture.
During the visits, we must observe the procedures and ways of visiting Muslims and cordially inviting the Muslims to attend the lectures. Details on the ways of doing the work of visiting Muslims and asking them to attend our lecture in the Mosque, with the grace of Allah I have written in a separate booklet and it will be published soon, Insha’Allah. One person should give the lecture after solat Maghrib. The aim of the lecture is to persuade the audience to fulfill the needs or the requirements of the Mosque. The first need of the Mosque is to bring all Muslims in the locality to the obedience of the command of Allah, especially the first and second command. At the end of the lecture the audience are persuaded to do the work of dakwah to non-Muslims, the work of reminding Muslims, performing five times solat with congregation, learning, and teaching by giving times daily to the Mosque about two hours and thirty minutes. The names of those who are ready to give times to the Mosque, written clearly in a book and they are later on, collected, and given instruction on how to spend times in the Mosque.
When there are needs, according to mesyuarah, the Mosque can send groups of Muslims to other neighboring Mosques in the cities for three days and other Mosques in other countries for longer durations of times such as forty days or four months, and those audiences who are ready to go are asked to give their names too. Those allowed to go to other countries for long duration of times, should be among those who have given times in their locality two hours and thirty minutes daily, healthy and have sufficient expenses to spend and to leave their families. There is no rule that every male Muslim must spend three days every month, forty days or four months every year. None of these rules is mentioned in the Quran and practiced by either the Prophet s.a.w or the Sahabah. The Prophet and Sahabah went in the path of Allah according to the needs of the Prophet’s Mosque. Similarly, the groups sent according to the need of our Mosque to countries for certain duration of times especially to those Muslim countries where more Muslims are leaving the orders of Allah. The work of the group is to bring the Muslims back to the obedience of the commands of Allah, particularly the first and the second command of Allah. To send groups of Muslims to Muslims’ countries where many Muslims disobeyed the orders of Allah are more preferred than to send to non-Muslim countries.
Every Mosque is responsible in bringing the whole humankind to the obedience of the orders of Allah. Every mosque must act similar as the Prophet’s Mosque at the time of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Every Mosque is responsible over the whole humanity and no Mosque is under the control of another Mosque. There is no concept of “markas” that controls certain numbers of Mosques. Each Mosque is a “markas” and it is independent and work on its own. Each Mosque can decide on its own which areas and countries in the whole world, group of Muslims should be sent in order to make the orders of Allah alive there. Every individual Muslims is responsible over the whole humankind in order to make them obey the commandments of Allah and similarly every Mosque is responsible to make all other Mosques in the whole world, similar as the Prophet’s Mosque during the times of Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.
