Laws are made to be followed. There is no point making so many rules and laws yet no one really follows. Laws and rules are made in order to bring justice to the society. Justice will bring peace and tranquility to the society. In order for Malaysia to become a country with peace and tranquility it needs to have a law abiding and disciplined society. How to produce a law abiding society is a question needs to be answered by all leaders of the world. Every leader wants a law abiding and disciplined society as it is easy to manage the society. Laws are obeyed because of many reasons. Many people obey the laws because of fear the punishments and believe that it is good to obey the laws. However there are peoples who obey the laws because they believe God has ordered them to obey the laws. Malaysia will have a law abiding and disciplined society when all Malaysians believe that it is the order of Allah or God to obey the laws. God has created us and He wants us to live in peace and tranquility. In order to live in peace and tranquility men must be obedient to the laws and God ordered men to obey the laws, even though the laws are made by men. Many people do not follow the traffic laws because they believe that it is man-made laws and are not supposed to be followed. Many do not follow rules and become undisciplined because they believe they are supposed only to follows God’s laws and no other laws. Many do not follow laws made by men and as a result they become undisciplined. In certain areas, the law is written clearly that says “No Littering” but there are peoples who still throwing rubbish in that area. Peoples who throw rubbish everywhere believe that it is not wrong to throw rubbish everywhere as they like, as long as it does not hurt other peoples. In certain countries we saw many people who urinate even in the streets of the city. They do because they believe that there is nothing wrong to urinate at the street as long as they do not disturb other peoples. They are many people who come to work late and do not keep their promises because they believe it is not wrong to come to work late and it is not wrong not to keep promises. These are bad habits that many people have and as a result of these bad habits people become undisciplined.
Many think, bad habits die hard and there is no cure for bad habits. However until we can cure bad habits, we cannot have a disciplined society. How to cure bad habits? Bad habits are cured when we can cure their wrong beliefs. One of the bad habits that most Malaysians have is not punctual on appointments and not honoring promises. Very few Malaysians come on time when they have appointments either with the doctors or with anyone. In Malaysia very few peoples think and belief it is important to come on time for appointments. Most Malaysians do not come on time and this habits has made many doctors cannot work on appointment basis. When Malaysians make promises it meant to be broken and when they make appointments, it meant they are not supposed to come on time. It is not a progressive and advanced nation to have her people not to be punctual on appointments and not keeping to their promises. Many people in Malaysia have accepted the fact that promises made by Malaysians cannot be trusted and honored. Although some Malays are punctual with their five times daily prayer in the mosques, yet they are still not punctual on appointments and are still not honoring their promises. Why the Americans and the British are more punctual on appointments and are more keeping to their promises when compared to the Malaysian and the Indians. It is not the religions or the races that make the American and British are more punctual on appointment than the Malaysians and Indians but it is the belief and the way they think that make they behave differently. Both American and British people believe that it is wrong not to be punctual on appointments or not to honor promises. On the other hands Malaysian and Indians think and believe that it is not wrong not to come on time for appointments and not to honors promises.
The bad habits of Malaysians will be cured once the wrong belief and mindset of Malaysians towards time and promises are treated. Once cured, Malaysians will become punctual on their appointments and will always honor their promises. When Malaysians are not punctual with their appointments, they are not honoring other people’s times. When Malaysians are not honoring their promises, they are not trustworthy person. In order to become advanced nations we have to treat the bad habits of Malaysians particularly not punctual on appointments and not honoring promises. Why Malaysians are not punctual on appointments? They are not punctual on appointments because they do not have values on time. Most Malaysians do not value their time and most Malaysians think time is not valuables. In order to treat these bad habits, we should have good words addressed to Malaysians repeatedly and to be spoken by them frequently until all Malaysians have the correct belief and mindset toward times and appointments. Good and correct words are medicines to the mind and soul. All diseases can be cured and similarly the diseases of the mind and soul can be cured with the good and correct words. For example, good and corrects words are “Time is valuable”, “I come on time”, “I value my time”, “I am punctual on appointment”, “I am honoring people’s time”, “I am punctual, God is pleased with me”, “I am honoring my promise, I am trustworthy”, and “I am honoring my promises, God is pleased with me”. Such good and correct words must be repeatedly addressed to the Malaysian through electronic media, newspapers and billboards along highways. In this way Malaysians will often hear and read these good words and later on they will often speak these good words to their children and other peoples. When peoples often hear and speak these good words, their belief and mindset towards time and promises will also become correct. Once their belief and mindset towards time and promises are correct then their behaviors towards times and promises also become correct.
Similarly to cure Malaysians’ diseases of non-abiding to laws, we have to used good and correct words. What are the good and correct words to be used in order to treat this disease? Malaysians are not abiding to laws because they believe that laws are made only to benefit the law makers and not the peoples. Most Malaysians think and believe that laws are made in order to exploit and to suppress them. In other words they think and believe that to follows laws are not going to bring good to them but only to give benefit to the government. When they have these wrong belief and mindset, they will only obey the laws when there are policemen around. When there are no policemen on duty, they will break the laws. Malaysians must be made to believe and think that to obey the laws is to do well to oneself and to others, and to obey the laws made by the government which is not against the orders of God is also to obey the orders of Allah or God. Malaysians must be made to believe and think that to obey all the laws irrespective in the present of policemen or not is an act of piety. Malaysians must be made to believe and think that God is pleased to those who obey the laws even though the laws are made by the government and to obey the laws of the government is also to obey the orders of God. Some of good and correct words to be used are; “I obey the rules, God is pleased with me”, “I obey the rules to please God, God is pleased with me, I am honored”, “I obey the rules, I am wise”, “I disobey the rules; I am doing injustice to myself”, “I disobey the rules; God is not pleased with me”, and “Whether policemen are around or not, I obey the rules at all time”, Such good and correct words are to be addressed to Malaysians in electronic media, newspapers and billboard on highways. When Malaysians often hear, read and speak these good and correct words repeatedly to others and to themselves, their belief and mindset are tailored to these words. Once belief and mindset of Malaysians toward laws are correct, they will become law abiding citizens. All Malaysians will follow the traffic laws and regulations and they will become law abiding citizens at all time.
Those who are getting driving licenses are required to take self-talk therapy on driving cars or motorcycles or buses. Unless they pass the examination on the self-talk therapy they will not get their licenses. They will not go against the laws because they believe it is against the orders of God. When they go against the orders of God, God is not pleased with them and they will become unsuccessful. When Malaysians become law abiding citizens, there will be less crimes committed in the country. Malaysia will become a peaceful country and everyone is protected by the laws and only a few peoples go against the laws. Those who against the law will be brought to the court of justice and no one is spared from the laws. Those who are found guilty by the court will be put in the prison and the prisoners will be rehabilitated and treated using the self-talk therapy. All prisoners will be treated using the therapy and once they come out of the prisons, they will become good and law abiding citizens. Instead of prison is a place of tortures and punishments; it becomes a hospital for behavior treatment and a place for meditation and rehabilitation. All prisoners are also given good food, job training and various skills. Once the prisoners have completed their sentences, they will become law abiding citizens and they would have acquired various skills which will enable them to get jobs either with the government or the private sectors. With this approach the number of criminals in Malaysia will keep on reducing and the number of law abiding citizens will keep on increasing. When this thing happened, Malaysia is truly on the road of becoming a truly advanced nation that has been dreamed by all peoples in the world.
